Seeds of Success Project Description
Seeds of Success: A Resiliency Education program is designed to build resiliency in children grades 1-5 residing in the City of Rochester, NY impacted by poverty, trauma, and other challenges. Over the course of the semester, St. John Fisher College Community-Engaged Learning students will serve as “guides” and read books and run activities on resilience topics including positive identity, feelings, goal setting, problem solving, and persistence. The program will conclude with a celebration and a certificate for each child. Resiliency enhances a child’s ability to cope with adversity and life stressors, which then leads to positive relationships and academic success.
